NATHAN W. ANAWROK Lifelong Alaskan Nathan Warren Anawrok, 72, died April 23, 1997, at Alaska Native Medical Center.

A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the Evangelical Covenant Church with the Revs. Philip Axelson and Nathan Toots officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Unalakleet at a later date. Pallbearers will include Francis Anawrok, Lincoln Riley, Victor Riley, Alfred Anawrok, Walter Agibinik, Waldon Agibinik and Dewey Otton.

Mr. Anawrok was born July 12, 1924, in Unalakleet. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and in the Alaska National Guard. He worked in the maintenance department for Alaska Native Medical Center and retired in 1985.

Mr. Anawrok's family said: ''He enjoyed bowling and playing baseball, basketball and volleyball. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and had coached and umpired for Little League. 'Home is the hunter, home from the sea and the hunter home from the hills -- a beloved brother, father and uncle to his family.' ''

Mr. Anawrok is survived by his wife, Rena; son, Alfred; and daughter, Helen, all of Unalakleet; two sisters, Esther Agibinik and Margaret Moore, both of Anchorage; and eight grandchildren, Tanya Lewis Showalter, Alice, Alicia and Wes Anawrok, Christopher John, Leonard and Josh Delie, and Shaina Hudson.

The Anawrok family requests that memorial donations be sent to any Little League organization.
